The research field is structured around several research axes focusing on the applications of organic geochemistry in the fields of environment and petroleum exploration (see description in annex).

• Research Axis 1: Urban Pollution and Coastal Environment
  This research axis brings together two closely related aspects corresponding to urban discharges (including different forms of pollution: liquid, solid and atmospheric, as well as treatment techniques) and marine chemical pollution. This axis includes:
  · Physico-chemical and biogeochemical characterization of urban discharges from Mediterranean coastal cities: impacts on coastal zones and treatment techniques;
  · Marine chemical pollution (pollution by hydrocarbons, heavy metals and pesticides) and harmful blooms (biotoxins).
• Research Axis 2: Multi-biomarker approaches and chemical contaminants
• Research Axis 3: Marine Organic Geochemistry / Environment–Aquaculture Interactions

• Coordination and teaching of modules related to oceanology, environment–aquaculture interactions, coastal zone management, sustainable development, and marine environmental quality. These courses aim to develop operational skills for the management and sustainable exploitation of marine ecosystems and aquaculture resources.
• Coordination of specialized training programs, notably the Master’s program “Environment, Aquaculture and Sustainable Development” as well as the engineering program “Aquaculture Engineering and Farm Management”, designed to train professionals and experts in the fields of marine sciences and sustainable aquaculture
