Activities
As a strong
believer in co-creation and collaboration Dr. Jacqueline Uku, has worked in the
uplifting these values in the enhancement of ocean knowledge since 1994. She is
currently leading the National Marine Spatial Planning process for Kenya. She
is the recent past President of WIOMSA, former Chair of the Africa Ocean Decade
Task Force, a WIOMSA Fellow as well as a Lead Expert under the High-Level Panel
for a Sustainable Ocean Economy and a recipient of the NK Panniker Award for
capacity building from the IOC-UNESCO General Assembly. She continues
to support Ocean Literacy initiatives that contribute to the integration of an
understanding of coastal ecosystems for the enhancement of ocean awareness in
Kenya.
