Activities
As an Aquacultural Technologist, I am responsible for a wide range of activities that support aquaculture development, research, and extension services:

Aquaculture Operations and Management

Supervise breeding, hatching, rearing, and grow-out operations for tilapia, catfish, and ornamental fish species.

Conduct broodstock conditioning, induced spawning, fry/fingerling production, and monitoring of growth performance.

Implement best practices in feeding management, water quality monitoring, and disease prevention.

Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation

Carry out field sampling, growth performance studies, and survival rate assessments.

Assist in research on aquaculture technologies and adaptive practices in response to climate variability.

Collect and analyze biological and environmental data to support decision-making and improve culture techniques.

Community Engagement and Extension Services

Facilitate training and seminars for fisherfolk, students, and local stakeholders on aquaculture operations, sustainable practices, and livelihood development.

Provide technical assistance to community beneficiaries, including site assessment, pond preparation, stocking, and management.

Support participatory projects that strengthen fisherfolk capacities in aquaculture.

Technical and Administrative Functions

Prepare project proposals, accomplishment reports, and technical documentation.

Coordinate with government agencies, LGUs, and partner organizations for aquaculture projects and resource distribution (e.g., boats, fingerlings, equipment).

Manage inventory of broodstock, fingerlings, feeds, and materials; handle logistics, procurement, and financial records related to aquaculture operations.

Capacity Building and Knowledge Sharing

Develop training materials, technical guides, and presentations for information dissemination.

Participate in workshops, review sessions, and consultations to update aquaculture strategies.

Promote technology adoption such as aquashade, aquaponics, and improved fry-to-fingerling rearing systems.
Skills
I possess strong skills in research and analysis, including literature review, data collection, statistical analysis (Jamovi, SPSS, Excel, Prism), and GIS-based spatial analysis using QGIS, Google Earth Pro, Copernicus Marine Service, and GEBCO. My background in technical and project management covers proposal writing, technical reporting, project planning, aquaculture operations management, as well as monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects. I am also experienced in communication and liaison, particularly in stakeholder coordination, community engagement, training facilitation, and preparing technical presentations and materials. In addition, I am proficient in digital tools such as MS Office, Google Suite, Canva, and Zoom, with familiarity in data visualization and mapping platforms. I also have practical knowledge in inventory and logistics management, including procurement processes, logistics coordination, and financial documentation.
