Activities
ü Coordination, management, planning, monitoring, and
implementation of project activities
ü Support the development of relevant documents for
Specialised Technical Committee (STC) meetings and evidence-based
decision-making by providing the relevant STC is provided
ü Proper support to the decision-making process on
fisheries and aquaculture sustainable management in African Member States
ü Support to strengthen the African Fisheries Reform
Mechanism for its functional role in African fisheries and aquaculture
development
ü Contribute to strengthening the capacity of AU
Member States and Regional Economic Communities (RECs) on developing realistic
national and regional policies and legislations aligned with the PFRS, African
Blue Economy Strategy, and relevant global instruments
ü Contribute to developing effective mechanisms for
solid reporting to STC on the implementation of the Policy Framework and Reform
Strategy for Fisheries and Aquaculture in Africa – PFRS (Design integrated to
the Comprehensive African Agriculture Development Plan - CAADP process) and as
well as AU Ministerial Decisions relating to fisheries and aquaculture
ü Support the implementation of AU flagship
continental development priorities (e.g., AU Agenda 2063, Malabo Goals, 2030
AIMS, Lome Charter) by implementing project activities
ü Contribute to identifying relevant fora and global
frameworks and initiatives relating to ocean governance to promote the African
Voice.
ü Contribute to developing mechanisms for enhancing
strategic partnerships in African fisheries and aquaculture.
ü Contribute to a strengthened AU-EU Relationship.
ü Focal point for the MoU signed with the Fisheries
Transparency Initiative (FiTI)
ü Focal point for the International Monitoring,
Control and Surveillance Network (IMCS Network)
