Marine botanist at the Institute of Marine Sciences of the National Research Council (CNR-ISMAR). My research focuses on the biodiversity of marine macroalgae, utilising classical taxonomy methods and molecular techniques, including DNA barcoding, to integrate studies on the biotechnological applications of seaweed biomolecules in the fields of pharmacology and technology.

I’m a curator and co-founder of the ISMAR Herbarium, developing protocols for the digitisation and management of natural scientific collections data, according to FAIR principles and for integration into the IR DiSSCo.
