• Obtain large satellite data for detection of Marine Heatwaves in the Philippine Seas
• Process sea surface data using workflows in R programming language
• Lead the research on the physical mechanisms of detected Marine Heatwaves in the Philippine Seas
• Obtain, manage, and analyze reanalysis data of oceanic and atmospheric variables for various studies related to Marine Heatwaves
• Relate oceanic and atmospheric patterns on the occurrence of Marine heatwaves and its possible effect on those patterns
• Train undergraduate students on detection of Marine Heatwaves 
• Write publications and present studies in various conferences and/or scientific meetings
