Activities
I am a biologist specialized in Hydrobiology and Fisheries from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, with graduate studies in Marine Sciences at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. I am an active member of the Peruvian Scientific Society of Astrobiology.
I have conducted research on the ecology and diversity of marine organisms—from plankton to marine mammals—as well as on the oceanography and paleoceanography of the Peruvian sea.
I work as a consultant in biodiversity and environmental management, with experience in assessing pollution, analyzing the impacts of oil, mining, and fisheries activities, and developing sustainable management strategies for marine protected areas, especially in the context of climate change.
I previously served as a specialist in fragile marine–coastal ecosystems at the Peruvian Society for Environmental Law (SPDA), contributing to the conservation of marine ecosystems and wildlife, and supporting the project “Strategic Support for Area-Based Marine Conservation in Peru.”
I am currently an Adjunct Professor of Astrobiology and Earth Sciences at the University of Engineering and Technology – UTEC, where I promote an interdisciplinary approach to understanding life on Earth and in the universe.
I also work as an educational advisor at BIOMARINA, providing mentorship in marine biology, marine sciences, specialized courses, thesis supervision, and scientific projects.
I have designed and taught teacher-training courses in marine sciences, and I am an active science communicator, promoting ocean knowledge and ocean literacy across academic, professional, and public spaces.
