Activities

(i)        Promoting and developing the Fishing Industry in the country.

(ii)       Fishing, farming fish (aquaculture), buy, process, sell, prepare for market, import, export all types of fish, fish products, aquatic flora, aquatic fauna, and products of aquatic flora and aquatic fauna.

(iii)      Participating in, supporting and encouraging the establishment and development of national and international ventures with the object of improving/ developing the fishing industry and the market of fish, fish products, aquatic flora, and products of aquatic flora.

(iv)      Participating in sponsoring and encouraging the establishment of industries necessary for or expedient to the development of the fishing industry, including fish processing, value addition, the manufacture of fishing vessels, gears, fish feeds and production of aquaculture seeds.

(v)       Participating in or undertaking, on a commercial basis, any enterprise related to or connected with the fishing industry.

(vi)      Carrying on its business operations and activities either within the United Republic of Tanzania or elsewhere, whether as Principal, Agent, Contractor or otherwise, and either alone or in conjunction with any other person, firm, or body corporate.

(vii)     Carrying out, promoting or sponsoring research in aspects of the fishing industry related to value addition and the marketing of fish, fish products, aquatic flora, and aquatic fauna; and

(viii)    Collaborating and supporting local authorities, fisheries associations (e.g., BMU, cooperative societies, etc.), and research, training and fisheries management initiatives in the fishing industry.
