Activities

The Latin American Institute of Marine and Environmental Sciences, "ILCMA" is a non-governmental organization, created in Miami, Florida (USA), which develops training courses and consultancy on conservation and sustainability issues, and environmental protection of coastal areas in Latin American and Caribbean countries.

These activities are addressed to technicians, students, professionals, private and public companies and general public, who have concerns, responsibility and interest in conservation of marine and coastal ecosystems and their sourrounding environment. Based on the philosophy of involving stakeholders: governments, local municipalities, universities, research centers, citizens, etc., ILCMA's activities are aimed is to increase the capacity of local professionals finding reasonable solutions to the particular problems, related to the current degradation of coastal areas and associated ecosystems.
