Nansen-Bangladesh International Centre for Coastal, Ocean and Climate Studies (NABIC) is a joint venture initiative between Bangladeshi and Norwegian partners established in 2011 with the vision to serve Bangladesh through advancing knowledge and sustainable development practises of the coastal, ocean and climate system and its impact on society by integration of knowledge generated by national and international partner institutions in the spirit of the Nobel Laureate and humanist Fridtjof Nansen. NABIC is a non-profit marine and climate research center based in Dhaka hosted by Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS) and operates as a programme of BCAS. NABIC is the 6th center within the Nansen Group of research centers worldwide.
The vision of NABIC is to serve Bangladesh through advancing knowledge and sustainable development practices of the coastal, ocean and climate system and its impact on society by integration of knowledge generated by national and international partner institutions in the spirit of the Nobel Laureate and humanist Fridtjof Nansen.
