Activities

As the principal initiator and coordinator of the formulation and implementation of Guyana’s Foreign Policy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will actively promote, enhance and protect Guyana’s interests and image within the international community, through its efforts to effect the following:

• Preservation of Guyana’s sovereignty and territorial integrity
• Intensification of Guyana’s role as a proactive player in international affairs
• Harnessing in a structured manner the skills, expertise and other resources of the Guyanese Diaspora that can contribute to the country’s development

Vested with the authority to respond to administrative, financial and other resource obligations, the Ministry will be a key facilitator in Guyana’s efforts to achieve sustained economic development, thus significantly upgrading its contribution to the enrichment of the Guyanese people.
