Assessment and biology of deep-sea fishes in the continental slope and Central Indian Ocean”. The project involve regular fishing cruises onboard FORV Sagar Sampada. Details of fishing grounds, types of gears operated, other operational details, catch and species composition are recording. Samples of deep sea fishes were collected and preserved for detailed taxonomic and biological studies. Biological details like length-weight data, otolith extraction, length frequency distribution in catch, reproductive dynamics, food and feeding habits etc are monitoring.
