My research is mostly based on monitoring benthic distribution in marine critical zones (western Indian ocean and Benguela upwelling system), monitoring of nutrients pollution in Mombasa creek, monitoring daily and seasonal evolution of pH to provide baseline data for setting up ocean acidification experiments, monitoring of primary productivity in sewage impacted creek, monitoring of solid waste pollution along Kenyan beaches and creating awareness to local communities on marine waste recycling methods

Benthic ecology (marine nematodes identification to genus level, meiofauna and macrofauna identification to order level), marine ecology (mangrove, sea grass and corals studies).
