Activities
As a Food Technologist Researcher for the LG-CRE within CMI, some of my works relating to aquatic species and marine environment is a research on edible seaweed. This is essential for the Marshall Islands given the vast lagoon and ocean area, and the availability of some edible seaweeds within the marine environment that are often underutilized and overlooked when it comes to local seafood production. However, these are highly vulnerable to certain biological and environmental parameters such as, temperatures, pH, turbidity, water currents and others. As such, understanding how these could impact edible seaweed growth is critical to sustain edible seaweed and ensure these are made available to the future generation.
