Dr. Zakia Mokrane is an Associate Professor at the National Higher School of Marine Sciences (ENSSMAL, Algeria) and a researcher specializing in biological oceanography, marine ecology, and the sustainable management of aquatic resources. Her research focuses on marine biodiversity, coastal ecosystems, fisheries, aquaculture, environmental monitoring, and marine biotechnology, with particular interest in the valorization of aquatic resources and fisheries by-products. She also investigates marine pollution, microplastics, harmful algal blooms (HABs), and the impacts of seawater desalination on marine ecosystems.
