| Summary | This document focuses on the work plan of the Observations Programme Area, which will concentrate on variable-based rather than network-based performance metrics and tracking of the in situ observing system, review of the implementation goals for the networks, and maintaining an active cross-platform discussion forum on new technology, strategies for spatial coverage and deployment, and standards and best practices. A number of the expert teams representing observing networks raise concern about funding to sustain the technical coordination work of JCOMMOPS. |
