Degree PhD
Research Area(s) Biological Oceanography, Marine Ecology , Research Support Services , Biological Oceanography, Marine Ecology , Research Support Services
Research Activities My work concentrates on epifauna (organisms living on the marine bottom or directly above the sediment). Taxonomically the main focus is marine isopods, especially the typical deep-sea taxa from the abyssal plains from recent expeditions. I am planning and supporting expeditions with german research vessels, coordinating the sorting of samples and provide material on request fixed for genetic and morphological studies.
Research Region Atlantic Ocean, Iceland, deep sea
Working languages English, French, German
Skills/Expertise Peracarid crustaceans, Isopod taxonomy and systematics, ecology and biogeography
