Research Activities The Caribbean Netherlands Science Institute at St Eustatius (CNSI) is a research facility that supports basic, strategic, applied, societal and policy relevant research and education in the fields of the natural sciences, life sciences, social sciences and humanities. CNSI’s mission is to realise a permanent scientific presence in the Caribbean Netherlands with research facilities (e.g. laboratories, research boat, ICT), outreach facilities (e.g. exposition space, seminar room, information centre) and accommodation for visitors. To strengthen cooperation between Caribbean and European Netherlands and to contribute to cooperation between the Caribbean islands To create a (public) visitor centre and meeting place To realise a permanent accommodation and research and education base To foster capacity building To encourage a sustainable socio-economic impulse in the region To strengthen cooperation between Caribbean and European Netherlands and to contribute to cooperation between the Caribbean islands To create a (public) visitor centre and meeting place To realise a permanent accommodation and research and education base To foster capacity building To encourage a sustainable socio-economic impulse in the region
