Research Activities
|
I study effects of allogenic and autogenic factors on benthic microalgae distribution and dynamics. This includes influence of intensity and timing of physical disturbance on microalgal succession and community structure. I am interested in the interactions between biotic (grazing, competition) and abiotic (current, nutrients, disturbance) factors in controlling dynamics of benthic microalgal communities. I concentrate on stream ecology, but have worked in reservoirs and natural lentic systems.
