Summary Established in 1968, The main line of action of the IOC (UNESCO) Sub-Commission for the Caribbean and Adjacent Regions (IOCARIBE), is to be responsible for the promotion, development and coordination of the IOC’s global scientific and research programmes and ocean services in the Wider Caribbean. The main items on the agenda of its 10th session: IOCARIBE Science Plan and related services, 2006-2016, Commission\'s participation to the IOC\'s 50th anniversary; Medium-term strategy; IOCARIBE vision for 2020; Large Marine Ecosystem projects; Regional Harmful Algae Blooms and Integrated Coastal Management projects; Tsunami and other coastal hazards warning system; Oceanographic data and information exchange; Bathymetry; Global ocean observing system; Sea level; Capacity development; International cooperation; Elections of the Officers; Budget.
Notes The IOC/SC-IOCARIBE-X Session will be preceded by a Regional Symposium on Tsunamis organized by the IOCARIBE Sub-Commission, which will be held at the same place and venue as the Session, from 20 to 21 October 2008.
