TOWS-WG Inter-ICG Task Team Meeting
The 26th IOC Assembly (Paris, 22 June–5 July 2011) decided through Resolution XXVI-7 to set up the Inter-ICG Task Team on Hazard Assessment Related to Highest Potential Tsunami Source Areas. The Task Team reports to the IOC Working Group on Tsunamis and Other Hazards Related to Sea-Level Warning and Mitigation Systems (TOWS-WG). The Terms of References for the Task team is provided in Annex VI of the Summary Report from the 4th session of TOWS-WG (20–21 March 2011, Paris). See document
The second session was held on 5 October 2014, in Rhodes, Greece, back-to-back with the International Workshop on Mega Earthquakes and Tsunamis in Subduction Zones: Forecasting Approaches and Implications for Hazard Assessment.
The UNESCO-IOC TOWS-WG Inter ICG Task Team on Hazard Assessment Related to Highest Potential Tsunami Source Areas will organize a workshop “Tsunami Earthquake and Maximum Earthquake Size for Tsunami Warning and Hazard Assessments” back-to-back with the IUGG Tsunami Commission meeting during the 26th General Assembly of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) to be held in Prague, Czech Republic, from the 22nd of June to the 2nd of July 2015 http://www.iugg2015prague.com/
